Sweden's South Coast - from/to Malmö

Arrival in Copenhagen. Take the train or bus to Malmö. Pick-up your motorhome or camper. Get known with your new home on wheels. Stop at the next supermarket and drive to the first campground.

On your way to Arild today, plan a stop in Lund. Lund is called the "city of students" more than 1/3 of the population are students. Stroll along the many cafés, parks and brick fronted buildings. Continue to Arild which is located on a peninsula.

Drive northbound to Göteborg. Göteborg is the second biggest city in Sweden and it offers a lovely old town with a maritime touch. Continue and reach inland Skövde.

Explore the surroundings of Skövde and the region of Västergötland. Here originates the oldest settlement of Sweden. Not far away is Hornborgasjön, the most famous birdlake in Schweden.

On your way to the westcoast visit Jönköping which is known for its matchstick industry. Visit the matchstick museum. On your way visit Eksjö, the nicest wooden village of Sweden. More than 200 buildings are under monumental protection. Continue to Söderakra.

Visit the surroundings of Söderaka or visit the island of Öland. On Öland visit the capitel Borgholm and Borgholm Castle ruin which is situated near Solliden, the summer residence of the Swedish Royal Family.

On your way to Hörby visit Karlskrona which is spread over 30 island and which is known as Sweden's only baroque city and host to Sweden's only remaining naval base and headquarters of the Swedish Coast Guard.

Approx. driving time: 2 hours 25 minutes

Short drive to Malmö. Return of the vehicle and continuation with bus or train to Copenhagen. Flight back home.
