Drive Arthurs Pass a township in the Southern Alps and base to explore Arthur's Pass National Park. Continue to Punakaiki at the West Coast. Visit Pancake Rocks, which is a heavily eroded "pancake"-layering limestone area where the sea bursts through several vertical blowholes during high tides.

Drive along the coast and visit Greymouth and Hokitika to the Franz Josef Glacier and Fox Glacier.

Drive along Lake Wakatipe to Te Anau and the Fiordland National Park.

Enjoy a full day in the park. Visit the nearby fiords Milford Sound and Doubtful Sound. Activities such as kayaking, cycling, jet boat riding, fishing are possible and farm tours. Many species of bird life are also found locally, notably the endangered Takahe.

Drive via Gore or Invercargill to Dunedin. Visit Otago Peninsula home of many species of of wildlife, such as seabirds, especially albatross, pinnipeds and penguins.

North of Dunedin you will see the Moeraki Boulders, unusually large and spherical boulders lying along a stretch of Koekohe Beach.

Mount Cook is the highest mountain in New Zealand. Mount Cook is a favourite challenge for mountain climbers. Aoraki and Mount Cook consists for three summits: Low Peak, Middle Peak and High Peak with the Tasman Glacier to the east and the Hooker Glacier to the west.
