Drive along the Bay of Plenty to Rotorua. In Rotorua you find many hot springs, geysers and it's famous for the Maori culture. Visit a Maori tribe and eat hangi a typical maori meal which is done in an earth oven.

Visit Lake Taupo and Huka Falls on your way to the Tongariro National Park.

Enjoy a full day in the National Park. The most popular hike is called "Tongariro Crossing" which takes you through different vegetation areas. From far away you can see snow-covered Mount Ruapehu with the vulcanos Mount Ngauruhoe and Mount Tongariro.

Drive to Whanganui and then along the varying Kapiti coast to Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. Wellington is also called San Francisco of New Zealand, is a gourmet city. You can visit a few wineries which are connected together in the Classic New Zealand Wine Trail.
