The most famous tourist attaction in Savonnlina is Olavinlinna castle. In northern Europe, Olavinlinna castle is one of the best preserved fortress of the Middle Ages. In July the opera festival takes place in the castle.

On your way to Koli visit the Eastern orthodox monastery in Valaam. Continue to Joensuu and stroll in the art and artisan quarter Taitokortteli.

From mountain Koli, with its height of 347 m, you have a grand view over the lake Pielinen. This view is famous and is like an national icon of Finland. Koli has inspired many painters and composers.

Kuopio is a lively city and is surrounded by lake Kallavesi. The marketplace in the middle of the city is one of the most vibrant in Finland.

On your way from Kuopio to Tampere you pass the countryside, many small villages and many many lakes. Tampere is located between two lakes, Näsijärvi and Phyäjärvi. Tampere Hall is the largest concert and congress centre in the Nordic countries.

Drive up north again to Helsinki. Visit the most impressive buildings of the city: Helsinki Cathedral and Suomenlinna or sit peacefully in one of the numerous cafés in the harbour area.
